The first PT, EFV06 2021, aims at quantifying detection of norovirus and HAV in oysters on April 26th. The second PT, EFV07 2021, is scheduled for detection of the same viruses in strawberries in the middle of September.
As we discussed last year, there will be an opportunity for the NRLs to take part in an interlaboratory study practicing digital PCR for testing norovirus RNA in oysters along with the next PT distribution. Ingeborg Boxman will be the scientific leader of the study. The practical parts (registration, distribution) will be coordinated by the EURL, where Ramia Molin will act as project leader. The participants are free to use any type of digital PCR platforms and to decide for themselves when to run the experiments, with the aim of finishing before mid-June 2021. For labs that are willing to participate, we will arrange a Zoom meeting shortly after the deadline to discuss more about the practical details.
Unfortunately, we have only opportunity to include labs that register for the EFV06 oyster PT and have own access to a digital PCR instrument. Also note that the study should be seen as a separate part from the PT. Please find the planed study description attached.
If you wish to participate in PT(s) and the interlaboratory study together with oyster PT, please fill in the electronic registration below no later than March 18th.
