Prior notification - products of non-animal origin

Consignments with food products from countries outside the EU must be pre-notified at a Border Inspection Post (animal products) or at a Designated post of Entry (non-animal products) run by the National Food Agency.  Pre-notification must be done via the web-based system Traces (TRAde Control and Expert System).

TRACES requires a user account. The organization / company must also be registered in TRACES. In exceptional cases, advance notice can be made by filling in a paper form.

Prior notification

Animal products must be pre-notified in a CVED (Common Veterinary Entry Document).

Products of non-animal origin covered by Regulation (EC) 669/2009 and (EU) 884/2014 must be pre-notified in Traces through a CED documents (Common Entry Document). Other products of non-animal origin must be pre-notified by a special form - LIVS 114.

TRACES is used for pre-notification of those kitchenware that is subject to import control. Pre-notification can also be made with the "Form for the registration of kitchenware - LVS 100".

Please contact the designated post of entry where you are going to import your products and they can demonstrate the system.

Pre-notification must be made no later than 24 hours before the consignment arrives in the national territory. A consignment arriving Saturday or on holidays shall be pre-notified no later than 13.00 pm last working day prior to dispatch to the designated post of entry.

Control is normally made the first weekday after the registration, provided that the original document has been submitted to the relevant designated post of entry.

If border control at Arlanda airport is pre-notified in paper form, the pre-notification should be sent to the designated post of entry in Stockholm.
